Experience the Cerrado, a 65 million year old savanna that boasts some of the world’s most extraordinary biodiversity, vast landscapes, and pristine waterfalls. Over eight days, we will explore the beauty of Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park while immersing ourselves in the  culture of the Kalunga people, whose connection and history with the land spans generations.

Transfer - Cachoeira dos Couros Waterfall -Cavalcante

- Departure at 7 AM from Brasília

- Hike to the Cachoeira Dos Couros Waterfall en route

- Continue to Cavalcante

Trail: 4.5 miles (moderate/intense)

Accommodation: Pousada Aruana (Cavalcante)

Dia Dois

Hike Complexo do Prata Trail

- Departure at 7 AM from Cavalcante (big car day on dirt roads)

-Hike to incredible waterfalls and scenic viewpoints

Trail: 8.75 miles (moderate/intense)

Accommodation: Recanto dos Morros

Dia Três

Hike the Complexo do Canjia Trail

- Departure: 8 AM from Recanto dos Morros

-Visit multiple crystalline pools along the Águas Lindas River

- End the day at Canjica Waterfall

Trail: 6 miles (moderate/intense)

Accommodation: Pousada Dona Maria

Dia Quatro

Hike Catoá waterfall

-Departure: 8 AM from Pousada Dona Maria

- Visit the magnificent Catoá Waterfall in Campo Alegre village

- Swim in its unique pools full of different shades of blues

Trail: 3 miles (moderate)

Dia Cinco

Kalunga cultural experience/rest day

Departure: 8 AM from Pousada Dona Maria

Enter Kalunga territory

- Cultural immersion with local host Maurício from Vão do Moleque

- Experience daily life along the Corrente River, learn about Kalunga agricultural practices, and spend the day hanging out in hammocks on the water

Trail: 1 mile (easy)

Dia Seis

Hike to Correntinho Waterfall

- Newly opened trail in Vão do Moleque

- Multiple pools leading to the main Pedra Furada Waterfall

Trail: 6.5 km (intense)

Departure: 8 AM from Pousada Beiju de Ouro

Accommodation: Pousada Beiju de Ouro

Dia Sete

Hike to Guardian Waterfall

-Departure: 8 AM from Pousada Beiju de Ouro

-River trail leading to the hidden Guardian Waterfall

- Unique beauty within the Curriola River canyon

Trail: 3.75 miles (intense)

Accommodation: Pousada Aruana (Cavalcante)

Dia Oito

Transfer Cavalcante - Valley of the Moon - Brasília

- Visit to Valley of the Moon (Vale da Lua)

- Lunch in town of Sao Jorge

- Time for shopping and exploring the town center

- Return to Brasília
